DESCRIPTION:
The UC-231 USB Converter provides an easy solution for adding new or additional
Com Ports to Windows or Macintosh computers through their USB ports. The RS-232
connection is the standard 9-pin D Type male connector with +5v power on pin
9.
The
unit
is
powered
from the USB connection, so no external power supply is necessary.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
The UC-231 Converter can be used to add additional Com ports to a Windows® PC,
or install conventional COM ports on newer "thin" PCs that have eliminated
legacy ports. This adapter does not require the assignment of an IRQ (Interrupt
Request).
The computer must be an IBM PC/AT compatible running the Windows® 95 (OSR
2.1), 98, ME, XP or
2000 operating system, or a Macintosh running OS 9.X (Not compatible with OS
X).
The computer must have the proper USB connectors installed.
